Digital Inspiration

These days everyone is so attached to their phones, iPads, and laptops. It’s so much easier to organize ideas electronically than carrying around a notebook which is probably why everyone is obsessed with online media sites like Pintrest and Instagram. I am no different! When looking for wardrobe inspiration there are only a few magazines that I will read, but I always turn to my favorite digital media sites when I need my daily fashion fix.

Madd Hatting Halloween

On Saturday night I decided to host a small gathering for Halloween. Since Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year Los Angeles was packed with costumed patrons over the weekend. When I was a kid I always had a fascination with Alice in Wonderland, especially the Madd Hatter tea party! Maybe it was the fact that Alice created an alternate universe where even the most insane things were possible. I was able to put together a last-minute costume with a black dress, fishnet tights, and a chunky necklace with a purple scarf to create a necktie, and of course I purchased a Madd Hatter top hat.20121029-095320.jpg

Favorite LA Marketplaces

Los Angeles is a food lover’s heaven! There are such unique restaurants and each has something special to offer whether it’s ethnic food, a restaurant with a view, or amazing desserts. I love going out to eat with friends especially at a casual marketplace where you can pick from a variety of salads, sandwiches, soups, hot items, and my desserts.

She’s Gone Country

On Saturday I went to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time to see a Brad Paisley concert. I had heard how amazing this venue was, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I packed a picnic basket with salad and dessert from Lemonade, and a bottle of wine to share. Scotty McCreery and The Band Perry opened for Brad Paisley and they all put on a great show. I can’t wait for the next concert at this venue.20121022-084007.jpg

Keep on Walkin’

This fall my favorite way to spice up an outfit is with shoes. There are so many amazing trends that can change your outfit from being ordinary to unique. For 2012 we’ve seen a variety of buckles, booties, color blocking, and prints. I’d have to say I have a soft spot for ankle strap pumps!

Lately I’ve been loving chain link accessories! They are the perfect combination of classy and edgy, and can be easily paired with a dress or blazer and jeans.  I recently purchased a chain link pave bracelet and it’s so versatile I find myself wearing it almost daily.

This week has been eventful! My sister stayed in LA with me so of course I had to take her to my favorite places. We went to Boa for a drink, Lemonade for salad and macaroons, and downtown to Mas Malo for happy hour. I’m excited that it’s the weekend, and plan to stay local. I plan to watch the documentary Happy, and shop the Fairfax Flea Market on Sunday.
